Approach to the environment is guided by a number of principles with which Oti Manor House attempts to comply:
- Business is conducted with due regard to the environment, its habitats and biodiversity.
- We endeavor to not abuse our limited natural resources, such as water, electricity, and food products.
- We attempt to reduce the use of chemicals that are harmful or dangerous to the environment. This means that the products we use in our business are biodegradable and have low-impact on the immediate environment.
- We give preference whenever possible to food products and other merchandise that is produced naturally and chemical-free, and is preferably of local origin. This means that natural sources of food, such as honey, free-range eggs, organically-grown produce and other natural products will be used whenever possible.
- We give preference to products that are considered environmentally-friendly and are labeled respectively, as well as products which are made of recycled materials.
- We recycle all waste materials as much as possible, meaning that everything is sorted for recycling: paper, metal, glass, and plastic.
- Employees are encouraged to work in an environmentally responsible manner.
- Where appropriate, encourage support from customers by providing them with products and services that are environmentally responsible in use.
- We ask our guests to be involved in implementing our environmental policies during their stay at our guesthouse by using water economically, as well as soaps; by turning off lights when leaving their rooms; bringing batteries and other hazardous materials to the reception desk for appropriate disposal; and finally by sorting any waste for recycling that they may incur while staying with us. Customers will find appropriate instructions in their rooms on how they can help Oti Manor House become an environmentally-friendly business.
